M. Lucila Scimone

Hi, I'm M. Lucila Scimone, a research scientist by day and an amateur artist by night (and weekends!). Professionally I explore the biology of regeneration, personally my passions lie with the arts, creation, and travel. My creative pursuits primarily involve ceramics, painting, and photography. I find joy in shaping clay into decorative or utilitarian objects that enhance daily life, and in the tactile process of the work itself. My paintings lean towards the abstract, allowing me to explore color and form in a free and expressive way. Photography grants me the opportunity to more directly capture the beauty and wonder I encounter in the world.

Here at home, my studio serves as a creative laboratory where these three artistic paths converge. It's where science meets art, where utility meets beauty, and where my experiences find their way into each piece I create. This website is a space for me to share my creative journey and the pieces I've made along the way. I hope you enjoy exploring my work!
